Approximately standing for over 2000 years,

16 metres wide and  50 metres tall,

It’s Tāne Mahuta !, The greatest tree alive 

Building waka, maraes, sharing the breath of life,
It's Tāne Mahuta the greatest tree of all

and if you see It first view 

its very very tall, 

look up, and see the leaves that soar,

 3 to 7 cm long?,I know, I ain’t wrong,

Its Tāne Mahuta standing proud spreading his greatness all around

Separated his parents and now his brothers can roam around and now they are no longer bound to the
Cramped- up- space that was found as safe and sound,

 Banyan Fig Fact Sheet

	It belongs to the Moraceae family, it is a Ficus genius, and subgenus is  F. . Urostigma.
Roots/Aka	Older banyan trees are identified by floating support roots that grow into thick, woody trunks, which can become identical from the main trunk with age. Old trees can spread sideways by using these floating roots to grow over a wide area.

Term 2 2021 Aston - Tahuna Torea Mind Flow

Today In class our teacher told us to sit on the mat and close our eyes, she then told us to rethink what we did at Tahuna Torea to rethink all the places we went and what we did thes are the places we went to the bush, mangroves, and sand dunes after that we had to rethink coming to Tahuna Torea on the bus and when we got out we split in six groups and then saw glen innes school and then they join our six groups and then everyone went to different places the bush the mangroves and the sand dunes.  

Mothers Day Friday 5th 2021

Today at St Pius X Catholic School we had very special mothers day mass we celebrated mothers day

we made mother day cards our mums. First thing we did was get a A4 paper and fold it in half then we rolled them into little paperroles, after that we draw a heart shape on the red paper I liked the paper but it is very hard and rough. after drawing the heart on the red paper we glued the paperroles in the lines where we draw. So after putting the paper roles on the red paper we put 2 strips around the hart and that's how we made mother day card.

Soul Friends Mass Aston

 Today for Saint Pius X we had a very special mass. This Mass is special because we celebrated three important occasions for our school. They are, Saint St Patrick's Day, Soul friends and Ash wednesday. did you know that Patrick didn't make his way to Ireland until Irish pirates kidnapped him at age 16. From there, he started his journey to converting the Irish to Christianity and becoming an Irish patron Saint. did you know that St patrick lived in three different places britannia , ireland and auxerre, also he was born on 386 AD & died on March 17, 461. on the 1st of march it is ash wednesday , Ash wednesday  is when Father puts ashes on your forehead, why he puts ashes on your forehead he puts it on because Ash Wednesday is a Christian holy day of prayer and fasting Ash Wednesday derives its name from the placing of repentance ashes on the foreheads of participants to either the words Repent, and believe in the Gospel or the dictum Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return. and last of all Soul friend, soul friends came the Holy Faith sisters from Ireland. In the early Irish church people would chose wise people to have as there soul buddy.

The Adventure of The Brave Carrot Marmalade          

Hi I am  the Jar of Carrot Marmalade also called Mordy , and I'm gonna tell the story of how I was made and how I got to Auckland. It's a really interesting story so you should read it. 

I was Once an ordinary carrot. I did what other carrots do “grow and grow and grow. Too much growing means getting rotten or picked to be sold at the supermarket, and get eaten.

               Now the story begins.

I was a normal Carrot growing then I was picked by a Carrot pickers who sold me to the supermarket, then a mysterious man who is called by the name John Thompson, picked me &  all my brothers were all left behind I was the only one who got taken to the ship called Endeavour, who's leader captain Cook, then I knew that I was endangered because: I was bought by John Thompson Captains Cooks Chef!!

I was taken to the one place I feared the most, the “kitchen”! Then he started on another carrot my long lost brother, Called Rick, after Jimmy it was me, I was grated like I was worthless but I, and my long lost brother Rick wasn’t the only people who was put in there, then he started adding 4 cups of water, 6 cups of sugar, i was put in to a boiling hot jar, which i thought was spar/hot tub, then i felt like a whirl pool because i was getting stirred, then he put me in another glass jar, and then I was sealed up with a metal lid, Then that same night I was asleep then I was abducted by aliens, then i saw a dirty seagles smelly foot trying to open the jar , then The dirty seagles dropped me in the water, next to Mercury bay, and in a place called Captain cooks beach. And ever since that I could never see the sun again. Until 251 one long year, I was found by some fishermen then they sold it to the museum But then I was used to a tool from The endeavour because whatever is old is ancient that's what I learned.

 So I was standing still trying to look muscular for the ladies because they were looking at me. Then a Tsunami came that flooded the area around me, I got floated away, like rubbish being squished, Then I was saved by this muscular handsome beautiful man named Taniela, and a boy next to him called Aston, that was way more handsome and even more muscular. Then I saw a board saying Auckland.  Then I was sent back to the museum, I was angry Because they were playing games with me and my long lost brother Rick and I had to do something but I was sent back To The old people that saved me, and Then I raged at them but they didn't really understand me and also Aston tried me and looked a little angry and sick then he laughed with a d face.

In the news article the key event is that on the 10th of march America's cup races. Team New Zealand got off to the better start, winning the first race by 31 seconds after that However the Italian team captained by Jimmy Spithill came back in the second round , leading from start to finish to win by 7 seconds. 

Did you know that the America's cup started in 1851.  It was first offered as the Hundred Guinea Cup on August 20, 1851, by the Royal Yacht Squadron of Great Britain for a race around the Isle of Wight. The cup was won by the America, a 100-foot (30-meter) schooner from New York City, and subsequently became known as the America's Cup. Here's a fun fact: did you know Britain has never won the America's Cup? Also did you know that winners decide the race locations. Waitemata Harbour is where the race took place.

One the 8th of March was International Women's day. In our class we do an activity. First we had to get in a group of four or a pair ( 2 people ) my group was Sio, Aniseko & Aston and then second we copied a good drawing , then we had to say a positive thing about a girl and also challenges of being a girl.this is Our Activity  me, and the females have to do the same thing, but they had to say something positive about a boy, and something that is very challenging for a boy.
